Lovely Latin-inspired music, full of twists and turns. I had missed Guillermo Klein's work until now, but I need to correct that. Out today on Bandcamp. Last track in the album "A Navarro" is a delightful take on choro, which Anat Cohen's fans will certainly enjoy.

The awesome Seven Poets trio, Tomas Fujiwara (drums), Tomeka Reid (cello and bass), Patricia Brennan (vibes), releases a new album, Pith, on Bandcamp.

Original version of "Love Will Find a Way" from the album Pharoah. Starts with an extended, sometimes off-key vocal section/intro by Pharoah Sanders, followed by sax solo, then around the 6 minute mark the highlight for me is the lengthy guitar solo from Tsziji Munoz. I think this is due to be re-released as a box set soon with the full session recordings.

I really like this band! Listening via my Dunu Kima Classic IEMs- they seem to speak to me. Especially with female vocals.

Here's another advance single, "Salute" from the upcoming Daniel Villarreal album Lados B with Jeff Parker and Anna Butterss.
Laid back groove based jam, not groundbreaking but very pleasant. Feeling good about my preorder.

I've been enjoying Yussef Dayes - Black Classical Music
This track is "Raisins Under the Sun" featuring Shabaka Hutchings
Afro-Cuban fusion vibes, laid back groove, great playing all around.

These two avant-garde-ish Intakt releases are taking an inordinate fraction of my listening time:

Beyond Dragons by Angelika Niescier, Tomeka Reid, Savannah Harris:

Chimaera by Sylvie Couvoisier with Christian Fennesz, Wadada Leo Smith, Nate Wooley, Drew Gress, and Kenny Wollesen:

Tomeka Reid had also a great part in Tomas Fujiwara's Pith that I recommended earlier.

Those 3 albums are my favorite edgier new music in quite a while. There are several others a bit more staid too from Tyshawn Sorey, James Brandon Lewis, Johnathan Blake, and Kris Davis. I'll have to write a longer list...

One of my favorite group of musicians live.

    This set sounds awesome.

Very mellow and very nice. I am a sucker for just about anything with a horn and Love horn jazz.

Yes! Got if this weekend. Very different from James Brandon Lewis's main output. So what, a totally winning set!

This electronic jazz album is unlike anything I heard in a long time. The closest relatives (but not that close) are some of Louis Sclavis's earlier works like Napoli's Walls, but with a funk touch that reminds me fusion-y pieces in Carla Bley/Michael Mantler's Escalator Over the Hill or the Henry Kayser/Wadada Leo Smith Yo Miles! series.
