If you change out the diamond DD for beryllium then you're describing the Dorado. Whether or not Ken is considering a Dorado+ that uses the diamond DD instead I don't know of any such plans, but who knows what he has up his sleeve...

Considering the price of the Dorado and the manufacturing difficulties of the Vega, I imagine a hybrid Vega would be very expensive and unrealistic at this moment.

I was just about to pull the trigger on a pair of Andromedas, but now I'm not so sure with these newer models.

Would love a chance to audition the Andromeda, Vega, and Dorado...

    . . . . . . . . *heavy eq in use*

I received my Vegas. I'm impressed with a quick listen. They have lots of bass and some peaky treble at times. Only listened for ten minutes, but I'm fairly certain I'll keep them.

What tips are you using? Also expect the FR to become more balanced with burn-in.

I tried stock spin fits, hard to get them to fit. Went to my default choice, spiral dots Ml. Going to try the large in a few minutes. I hope the bass doesn't change much, I like it where it is.

The bass still hits hard but as you get acclimated it doesn't seem as intense as it does for the first few hours of listening.

The Spiral Dots are probably contributing to the peaky treble.

Bass, not a compliant at all. The least bassy iems I own are Noble K10s. I'm hoping I'm fully acclimated already since I have several items with more bass.

I must say, they do sound incredible. The treble, I would not even call it an issue. I'm equing the shit out of everything, so I'll adjust through the eq settings and tame it a little. It's not bothersome at all.

@Warrior, what iems does the Vega bass, quantity wise, sit between?

    . . . . . . . . . *Following is with heavy equing*

It's up there bro, way up there. I consider these basshead IEMS, but they are done extremely tastefully bro. When I eq the ex1000, the Vegas have more bass. They are less bass than the ex800st taped, I'll have to give them a listen untaped again, it's been a while. (going from memory)

More than Se846, K10s (very close), Zero, but less than my Ref 1, Plus 5, ex800st, and asg g2/2.5.

Sub bass seems more dominant than mid bass, which I prefer.

These are right up my alley, that's for sure. Excellent treble extension and mids are done very tastefully as well.

These are a must listen. I'm happy and I'm keeping them. I'm amazed that the little 8.5mm driver can make this sound.

@Warrior - Be sure to try the foam tips as well to check out the SQ. Believe foam is not your cup-o-tea, but Ken and I both found a significant difference using silicone vs. foam with these new IEMs. Cheers

Somehow I managed to drop all of my foamies (lost) except the pair that came with them... I'm unreal.

So are you saying that these have more bass than the EX1000 but less than the EX800ST (stock of course)?

Going from my memory. I'd think so, yes. Not sure about the ex800st without tape as its been a very long time. Those are just very quick impressions, I may have to modify them.

I have to apologize to everyone. I forgot to add, I eq the shit out of everything. All my comparisons are done with eq. I will note my previous posts to show. I'm listening right now to then with the Mojo and Cowon P1 with all effects off... Big difference, obviously. Without adding eq, these are not basshead IEMS. It's still present, but nowhere near the levels I was speaking of earlier. I'm very sorry for the confusion.

If these aren't basshead IEMs, then I doubt I could listen to true basshead IEMs for more than a few minutes. These go so deep and have so much impact, while still retaining texture.

Without eq? No, definitely not brother. Not even close. Add a lot of bass to then if you want to hear a basshead iem, and that wouldn't be the most bass... Probably be around 5 in my list, and I haven't heard all the basshead IEMS. I prefer the better ones that have amazing SQ, not just gobs of sloppy bass.

It's all relative I suppose. I think anything bassier than this would turn me off.

Yes, definitely is. I just didn't want to leave the wrong impression. You'd hate my collection of IEMS. Lol

Tried running balanced off of my X7, with my Whiplash 8 strand modular TWau. Didn't hear any difference. Have to try again, but I couldn't tell the difference.
