Managed to nab this for an absolute steal of a price, it's been quite a step up from the Essential II I had before.

@adpo sorry for the easy question, but what turntable is this? That looks like a project arm, but I am unfamiliar with this model. Looks great!

Nothing fancy. Just a U-Turn Orbit I picked up recommended by @Pyruvate. Picked it up on craigslist for steal price from a guy who said he/they "grew up and got a Sonos" and didn't need it anymore :p. Plugged into a Denon Receiver with Ascend Acoustics Sierra Towers. Denon DVD and Theta Progeny as other sources.[IMG] [IMG]

Look at you! A couple months ago, you were so anti-vinyl too. Mmmm. Dark side of the force beckons (thanks Marv).

It's hard to believe that's it been almost a year to the day since I had a vinyl rig up and running!? I took the main table out of the room so I can do the necessary changes to make it ready for the USA.

I dug the old Sony PS-X7 off a shelf and decided to try a new cartridge on it... I went with the Ortofon blue. I'm very pleased with the result with only a quick set up. The old Sony is a very capable direct drive, and I have to admit I always love having all the automatic controls working!

Here's my Technics SL-1800 with Denon 103-R installed by the one and only @shaizada playing the new Radiohead vinyl:

I want to upgrade to a VPI Classic either this December or next year depending on other expenses.

Image quality is pretty bad, but I don't have a decent camera (spent all the money on audio).

Running an Orbit Basic -> TC750 stock -> Valhalla 2 as the preamp -> Dennis Had Inspire KT SE -> Salk Archos

Really liking the sound of this rig so far, the tube amp definitely adds some magic that my NAD C370 didn't have, and the Valhalla 2 acting as the preamp is pretty fun to mess with.

Compared to my Theta DSPro Prime, doesn't really have the fat Mike Moffat bass, but it's very cohesive and natural sounding with no nastiness I get with some digital sources.

Anytime! Its on order, and I might not have to wait 2 years as someone already did and just dropped out towards the end. Cross my fingers! They are total of 5 tables, mine will be the 6th in the USA/Canada. Not for a lack of sales, but no one has that kind of patience!

Guys, I have to admit, this is a dream level turntable for me. Something I will cherish for the rest of my life and pass on to my kids. How Tim De Paravicini does this, I will never know. How is one man able to produce a turntable like this, amplifiers, tape decks, digital circuits that I am in love with...I just don't know. I just ended up with all his gear and its not that I'm married to it...I would drop it in a heartbeat, if I actually heard better for my personal listening tastes. Now, I'd come across like an EAR fanboy, but who cares...Tis what speaketh to my heart.

I have MORE major news as well....

Awwww man, sweet. I remember you mentioning a 2 year wait for a dream component... Now that you got bumped up in the queue, what kind of wait are you anticipating?

Also, big congrats on the Coltrane's.

Wow, a big 1-2 knock out combo!!!

Edit: and boom, I have to add congrats on the EAR gear that's on the way as well

Are you keeping all your current tables or will you be liquidating some to make way for the new kid in town?
