The entire time I lived on the south side of my city, my ECBA would pick up this fairly loud "BUUUUUUUU" noise, I want to say about every 90 minutes, but I never kept precise time. I don't believe the intervals were exact, but they never differed that radically. It was never less than an hour.

I used the amp for a short time with a normal surge protector, later added a BPT Signature-1 (+?) power conditioner I bought from DaveBSC, and there was no difference in the behavior. It also persisted in a completely different house that was a few miles further south in the same city.

It went away entirely after I moved to the northside, though.

I've always run balanced interconnects to the amp, and had my USB line to the computer optically isolated with a fancy adnaco solution at the time. I feel like the source had to be something in the air going to the tube plates, given all these things.

Does a likely source of this noise come to mind for anyone? Does anyone have similar stories?
