    Hit on the AMM4s!

I don't own any of the super high end brand sneakers but the materials and construction are next level.

That is a good point. Quality materials are always appreciated. I sometimes lean to New Balance since they usually have pretty solid offerings in the "Made In" lineup.

High fashion has been doing this for a while. I remember Prada doing sneakers way back to when I used to live near Irvine California. The Triple S which this is based on has been around since 2018, riding the dadcore trend, which really didn't become a thing despite Drake (the most important age demographic went more to Yeezys than dadcore - well you know what I mean). The NIke Monarch of course is one of the defining shoes, if not the defining shoe of dadcore. The M2K Tekno is obviously a derivation of the Monarch. It came out originally for women, and was then later offered to men, to poor sales for both women and men, and thus discontinued. I got a pair of the Monarch IV. My wife and I each own our own pairs of the M2K. We will take the Monarchs or the M2K to the gym or just wear them around town.

I seriously considered getting me some Balenciaga Triple S a year ago but forgot about them. Word was they were super comfortable. The Adidas collab made it difficult for me to resist. Call it memories from childhood when I had a pair of blue adidas with their trademark triple stripe on the side. They also had two velcro straps instead of laces (80s thing). Over time Nike become cool and Adidas was relegated to the losers league (until Ye, who arguably saved the company). Balenciaga probably had someone like me in mind with this sort of thing (good thing they didn't do the velcro.) I think it's my generation who has the nostalgia for Adidas sneakers. It's funny because I was just speaking to a co-worker in the UK (just a few years younger than me) who recalled those iconic three stripes on Adidas sneakers we wore as kids.

With respect to the urban and streetwear world, there's Bape, Supreme, and Off-White. These brands aren't quite commanding Balenciaga pricing, but they are getting there. It will be soon enough when these brands start offering a basketball flower vase for $3000. (Balenciaga has a purse vase for $7000).

This is by far the most elegant piece of clothing I have ever owned. I'd sported some Burberry jeans, but this is next level luxury above that. Even wearing socks, when I slide my feet it, it feels so good. The cushioning, the plushness, the fine fabric. It simply cannot be described. These shoes are chunky so it's hard to run in them, but they are great for working out in the gym lifting weights or sitting on a plane for sixteen hours as they are super breathable. Despite all this, the truth of the matter is they are absolutely not worth it. They are way more expensive than they should be. I mean, this is Balenciaga, which kind of like the f**k you / sucks to be you brand. (As with DNA, ECP, ZMF, WE, Elrog, etc.)

However, this isn't any different from housing on the outskirts of London or Toronto. Decent stuff is affordable, but once we jump up to something remotely nice, the price increases geometrically. It's easy enough to find a two to three bedroom flat; but once we get to detached home with four or five bedrooms, it's investment banker money ($2.5M to start). Then again, the roach infested apartment on the 10th floor that I once lived in North York Toronto, that's a crazy $580K CDN today, with a $500 per month maintenance fee. We bitch about real estate pricing in the USA, but at least the increase is linear.

My old digs in Canada: https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/25032111/1001-10-sunny-glen-way-toronto-flemingdon-park

These showed up today. I’ve been rocking Allbirds since they launched in 2016 and their limited runs always catch my attention.

This pair reminds me of the Jazz design from the 90s.

Also, I should probably be banned for setting a pair of shoes on an amp.

Got these yeezys a while ago. Cool dad shoe vibes. Not sure if I feel right about buying more yeezys now though...

I just looked at their site... $850 for a pair of white stan smith's? Who the hell knew I was so hip in 1987... I had that exact pair of white with green label on the back. damn.

I prefer to wear the GT-1000 sneakers. The seventh update to the Asics GT-1000 series is the brand's budget-friendly workout sneaker, the softest in the brand's lineup.

They combine responsive outsole cushioning and reliable Duomax foot support to control hyperpronation. The midsole uses the innovative FlyteFoam Lyte material, which is 55% lighter than EVA. But I bought special shoes from Canada's best source for work boots. I tried using sneakers for work, but they are not suitable. You'll know what I'm talking about if you have a hard job.

    Pulled these out of storage

Back in 2005 my buddy and I waited in line for these on the day of their release. I bought 2 pairs, one that I wore and still have, and these that are mint with tags. I see they have been re-released a few times since, but these are the OG 25th anniversary version of the Adidas Orion.

Anyone that has born, raised, or lived in Canada for any decent amount of time will have heard of Terry Fox. He had a leg amputated due to cancer and decided to run across the entire country of Canada to raise cancer awareness. He dipped his prosthetic leg in the Atlantic ocean and planned to run 42km (26mi) everyday until he made it to the Pacific and did the same. After 143 days and 5,373 kilometers (3,339 mi), the cancer had returned and he had to stop, and died not long after.

Every year in Canada during September there is a Terry Fox run, with most schools participating, and many adults as well. He is somewhat of a Canadian hero that that exemplifies hard work, courage, and sheer determination.

A few years later there was another Canadian runner by the name of Steve Fonyo that completed the coast to coast run, also with a leg amputated, and prosthetic in its place. I remember my entire school being taken to a BC Place Stadium (60,000 person capacity) to see him on his final days before he touched the Pacific Ocean, quite the fanfare!! Unfortunately his legacy was marred by drug and alcohol abuse, and passed away recently in constant turmoil.

Time for some replacement laces on my SB Janoskis. They are a smooth round lace, almost boot style - similar to a waxed rope lace. Anyone have any recommendations?

I've been wearing two sets of Brooks Adrenaline GTS (21/22) for the most part. Trying to heal my legs/ankles/feet.

Measure the thickness and we can find suitable replacements. Aliexpress, Amazon, etc will probably have a great match.

I somehow got the hairiest pair of ALD 550 grey suedes that exist. Like 10x as hairy as any other pair I've seen.
