sold: Abbas 2.3 SE DAC

Hello,

Up for sale is my Abbas 2.3SE DAC. Works great and will include extra tubes for tube rolling

If I owned this dac I would just get lost staring at the steampunk internals. So cool. GLWS!

 

Alright since not a lot of people have heard this dac, I'll write a little about it.

- This is a tda1541 chip-based DAC in NOS and utilizes various tubes like E180F, EB91, EZ90, and 5Y3 as a rectifier.
- tubes make a big difference in sound (for better or worse)
- Does not sound like the typical sound we associate NOS with (Metrum, Sonnet, etc) No hint of gooey mush sound
- Macrodynamics on these are insane. This is what made me sell the Wavelight and never looked back.
- timbre is much more natural sounding than Rockna (Wavedream Sig and Wavelight)
- Clarity is good, but I think Rockna wins here
- staging is also better on Rocknas as well
- transients/decay sounds much more natural than something like Rockna where it feels too fast for my liking
- if you are a "detail wh0r3" i would look elsewhere, I think this dac prioritizes musicality(w/e the fk that means)

I like it so much that I am only listing this to fund for a higher-tier version of this DAC. If this doesn't sell, I will see it as a sign to keep this dac and not bother upgrading. If there are enough interests, I can also bring this DAC to the Austin meet, but I will need to know soon so I can ship this in time.

this DAC is something special, handmade in small batches with fine attention to detail. it encapsulates one mans vision of what digital audio playback should look like and as a result is in a completely different class to mainstream DACs.

the friend pricing here is nuts, someone should jump into the deep end of the pool and get it before it's gone.

 

Reserving for a special friend here, looks like it might have a new home.

I already shipped the dac for this meet, so please try them out if y'all are coming to the Austin meet this weekend
