The idea of a socket saver amuses me. Sockets are supposed to be the modular and replaceable part in the first place. Can I find a socket saver for my socket saver? When do I get to Inception level of socketry?

From my understanding if you do a lot of tube rolling this supposedly saves your socket that is soldered on the board. Haha.

Which is supposed to be replaceable after...however many inserts. I'm sure those things are rated for enough insert for me to decide which tubes are best :D

    Carry-on, I'm derailing again

tube savers often add some extra "length" to the sound though :p

They would have come in handy when I owned a Lyr 1. Without them the sockets are well below the top of the chassis. Tubes were a pain in the proverbial to roll.

"People who do excessive tube rolling should be shot."

"WTF man? Do these people listen to tubes or do they listen to music?"

Not going to say who said those things.
