Although I've never gotten to hear a Yiggy, my impression is that the Schitt dacs have a different sound than the SFD-1 or vintage chip based dacs. On the other hand, I have both an SFD-1 and a Metrum Pavane L3. As much as I love the SFD-1, the Pavane has always beaten the SFD-1. The Pavane has never put a foot wrong and is simply a quieter, cleaner version of that vintage sound.

Had a Pavane for a week and own an SFD-1 - and I absolutely love both.

I felt the Pavane was 'ultra-organic' and I'm not even sure what I mean by that - maybe that it had kind of a palpable sound, like the sound had a tangible sense of density and mass, in a way that even exceeds the SFD-1; which, by comparison, is still full-bodied but with more luminosity, more radiance to the Pavane's dark shadows.

    Both absolutely fantastic DACs.
