Truthear Gate: Reviews and Impressions

Did you have a means of measuring things? I get that quality control on these more affordable IEMs will always be spottier, but there could be any number of root causes for one side losing volume. Maybe moisture from ear canal causing the very fine mesh over the driver on the nozzle side to be impeded? Sticky tape and silica gel could be helpful in this regard, though it's not always guaranteed to be physical impedance from moisture or earwax attenuating levels.

 

All I got is the smartphone with volume metering app installed. With full-size cans I can somehow measure the loundess level of each channel by isolating the opposite can but with IEMs no chance: nozzles are way too small to makeshift a solution. After all, these are $18 IEMs, so no big deal. Had the price been like $100, then getting pissed is understandable. I just posted that message as a warning to those who are inclined to get Truthear Gate.
