Next Austin meetup when? I have a friend who is dying to check out a SBAF meet and it’s been like 8 years since I’ve kept up to date with the industry and gone to my most recent SBAF meet [i was maybe 17 and straight wired on coffee, I still remember being shaky]. It would be great to check out some new gear and kind of re-orient myself on the industry. I have some modded HD650s, SDR HD800, and an OG Bifrost Multibit (I like it). My friend has a HiBy and a speaker setup. If anyone wants to just want to do a real informal small meetup sometime, we’d be down. The bigger meetup we had that I went to when I was 17 was a bunch of fun, too.

We don't have anything on the books for now, but if y'all just want to meet up , get some tacos and hear some setups I'm sure we can take care of it. All of the Austin Crew are pretty friendly and welcoming.

If you're into headphone stuff, my place would be best (especially before the Stellaris goes to a new home. It's pretty special.)

If y'all aren't local and you're wanting to come in for a meet with a bunch of other folks, then let us know and we'll just make sure we post about it here beforehand. We were all pretty surprised to have people flying in from other corners of the country for the last one, but we were happy to have 'em. We'll be happy to host y'all too.

We're local, so just a casual get together is pretty much what we're looking for. I'm busy over this weekend, but am available 4-on M-F.

I just double checked and I went to the mini-meet here in 2017 and was surprised by how many people showed up (not too many, not even close to the 2017 head-fi meet up [the small group format was definitely a vibe]). How big was it in 2015? I'm excited for this 2025 one. :)

EDIT: I finally read through the thread, sounds like an amazing time. Excited for the first international meet!! I had no clue about GentooPlayer, but do have quite a bit of experience running Gentoo on my PC. I need to see how @Vansen has his Pi2AES hooked up to his Bifrost Multibit, as I have the same Bifrost Multibit and a Pi2AES I bought like 7 years ago thatI'm not sure if I've ever used.

For the meets, I was running two routers: one to join the captive Wi-Fi at the meet, the other to run a local network. The Roon server was an HP MP9 G4 with about 1tb of music on an m.2 drive. We ran three pi2aes from that with one laptop and two iPads to control them.

The Roon server was running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. The pi2aes were running RoPieee. RAAT was the transport protocol.

After listening to a few different setups at other meets in Texas, I have plans to switch to my setup to Gentoo/ Gentoo player with Diretta as the transport and see how that performs in my systems. My Roon setup is decent, but I want it to sound closer to my CD player and I think these steps may make decent improvements with the gear I have. I just need to find the time.
