Yes your other option would be to see if anyone in Chicago is willing to pick up and ship for you at your expense. Shipping would be $$$, and you’d need to use a step up (I think?) transformer to match your local voltage obviously to use it, but if you want it badly enough…

Nothing wrong with passing but you’re going to be hard up finding one at all, much less in your area, as you know.

Here's another nice DIY tube amp build using 6080/6AS7 tubes by @itsikhefez for $650

If you remember, I posted one of his other builds based around D3A tubes here, and @rhythmdevils did a little research and guessed that it was a great amp at a great price. No idea if that's true for this one, too, but he seems to know what he's doing.

10Y output tube, Audiofeast OPTs and choke. Uses DC supply for 10Y's filaments using Rod Coleman regulators, so my guess is, it should be noise free for headphones
