The major buying point for the Fellow kettles is the Stagg’s very fine pour that’s only good for pour over coffee and green tea. If you’re looking at the Corvo - unless you need a super hard pour - I’d recommend a Bonavita kettle instead. Even with the goosenecks on the Bonavita, you get a high flow rate, precise control, and similar ramp up time. You’ll save about $100.

As a Stagg and Bonavita owner, the Stagg only has two things that make me want to own one: fine pour and auto-heating when replacing the pitcher. The Bonavita is better on every other metric except aesthetics. The handle on Bonavita hands down beats the ergonomics of the EKG kettles. I almost got rid of my EKG due to the poor handle design. Precision pours are hard without touching hot spots of the kettle until you learn a new technique to hold kettles.

Yea, I just need flow rate.
Check on some "tea discords" and most dislike the Stagg for the temp of the water and flow rate especially for purerh. So I thought the corvo would be it.

I owned both stagg and bonavita and vastly preferred the handle design and balance of the stagg for coffee pours. I gave the bonavita to my wife to take to work. I'm more of a tea nephyte, but just wanted to weigh in on handle design/preferences.

A fellow tea person here. I had no idea flow rate and pour control were things.

Are these for tea or coffee? (or both?). I have more questions but this got me pretty interested and i would like to learn more (but obviously not to take over this sale thread)

For pu’er, the Corvo should be a good choice. I’d snag that refurb one linked earlier.

For the handle, a traditional grip that you see for a tea kettle or in a tasting room works well with the kettle. If you have a grip style for coffee pour overs that’s adapted from pouring pitchers of steamed milk, it’s a bit of a learning curve. I have the habit of holding a kettle like I’m about to pour some latte art.

I like this thread as a non tea/coffee aficionado because it gives me insight into how normal people must see this entire forum. (No shade! It's a good thing! That's why I'm here too!)

This is how I learned to hold the kettle for pour over, gives you more control over flow rate and makes you look better in your oversized cardigan. But there should be a man from the high end roaster standing next to her telling her that she's pouring too fast and not steadily enough and too close/not far enough away from the edge to complete my learning experience scenario. And she should be a 30 year old white man trying to stay relevant for 100% authenticity.
