WTB HD600 Drivers/Capsules

I wish I could say that this was borne of modding, but it really was just a botched attempt at cleaning some hair off. Yes I'm a clumsy bitch a lot of the time.

If you've got a busted HD600 that's been run over by a cat or mauled by a car and is now only good for parts, then I'm happy to make use of it (provided the drivers are in good condition, haha). For context, it'll cost me about USD140/EUR131 to get new matched drivers shipped from the nearest Sennheiser distributor in Singapore (with a wait time of up to 8 weeks...), so I'm hoping to spend a bit less than that and get them sooner.

So here are MiniDSP EARS measurements (HEQ comp because I'm not happy with my tweaks to personal comp still) immediately after I tried un-denting the one driver a few days ago. Bass aside that's a 2.7dB difference at 3kHz:



And measurements taken a few minutes ago when I was wondering whether my own ears were developing some sort of channel imbalance:



There's still a small nick visible on the one driver and I'm reasonably sure there's barely-audible (cuz... noisy Filipino neighbourhood, I literally have an aviary outside my window and a restaurant/bar just beyond that) added distortion attributable to the damage, but I'm not rich enough to warrant that level of nitpickiness (Also happy to keep these as close to original parts as possible).

Lesson: some things just take time? Maybe there was buildup of pressure behind the diaphragm that took a while to normalise, no clue, I'm no engineer.
