Sennheiser Massdrop HD6XX Afternoon Yak Devolved into Shitposts

Even at $400, with all that they would sell like hot cakes. Still below MSRP on the HD650 which they delusionally hold to. And look at how many Fostex headphones Massdrop has sold at the same price.

It would do more damage to the line to black it out and build it in China to sell for less.

Well zonto was talking about high quality materials being used and a balanced cable. Those would drive up the price.

For completely selfish reasons I do hope this is a modded hd650 with higher quality frame/materials, spare pads and a balanced cable, but that makes no sense for the general headphone population.

 

If it's better, I'm ordering it. I'll be able to return my old new 650s, or just keep them until the new ones are shipped.

 

I'd like detachable spiders, an assortment of different density foam, modular dampening.

 

@CEE TEE probably had a hand in this. If it really is HD6XX, you can trust him to nail the tuning. He is ALWAYS on point IMHO.

Massdrop has a history of taking headphones from manufacturers, unfuckafying their tonal balance, and selling them at a cheaper cost than usual.

My only question is, what is there to unfuckafy with the HD600/650? Surely they couldn't have collaborated with Sennheiser to produce a brand new driver that's even better than what's in the 600/650 and sell it for even less.
