Sennheiser Massdrop HD6XX Afternoon Yak Devolved into Shitposts

Well, MD's photo teaser is intended to create this exact type of enthusiastic response. We're just fulfilling the intent. Seems rather natural to me.

Sure, but hopefully a second thread can be created for real feedback on whatever the product ends up being. Don't want this to be like the Modi Multibit thread that has 10 pages a new reader will need to sift through before arriving at real information.

Haha, but seriously. This one may be a game changer if Senn decided to retune any of the current headphones right. Here's hoping that they did!

 

Can anyone comment on the exact time the NDA is lifted? I would like to set my alarm. Or better still @Tyll Hertsens , just call me. You got my digits.

I was kind be of hoping Senn had found a cache of NOS HD580 and they were now going to sell them with Bill-P mods out of the box. Unless this is a misdirection...

 

Ramble in response to the hype here for this release..

As some of you know I visit here and HF. I would like to point out a difference that is visible but preface it with an experience.

1st.
I posted some impressions of the iFi iCan Pro on HF and mentioned that I used the HD650 (not exclusively) as the headphone of choice when listening for first impressions. The response was that the weaknesses I pointed out were of the 650 and not the Amp. Also they said to try another headphone and come back with impressions for that headphone. I had the Jothunheim SBAF loaner as a reference during that time as well.

2nd.
When you go to look at the HD6XX thread on HF you will notice it is DWARFED by the interest here on SBAF for the HD6XX release (if that is what it actually is)

Point....
My ramble is that there is actually a difference of taste between communities (though I don't consider HF a community because the leaders don't engage the public much like here... still its serves a very real purpose for audio enthusiasts).

I also know that people like myself who have grown fond of the 650 are gravitated towards SBAF in regards to sound tastes and not only because the signal to noise ratio is better.
