Oh, so based on the 'shopped photo I saw on the 1st page, these look more like... new Senns? Interesting...

(but are they really new tho? Which headphone is this based on? 580? 600? 650? I personally wish it'd be closer to 580, but... Senn has had a track record of being disappointing lately... cue HD800S)

 

while you are right that revealing shit is in poor taste, it is completely ridiculous for you to censor people on sbaf. it is not our responsibility to make sure that massdrop gets their big reveal.

But seriously, guys, whether it's a "responsibility" or not, the fact remains that if you spoil everything for people, then it kills anticipation. Kinda like before the movie, if the trailer gives away too much or you talk too much about one or two aspects of the movie because you had the chance to talk to the director, then it'd kinda spoil the movie.

Then again, such is the age we live in.

On thate note, I kinda "knew" about the Sony MDR-Z1R waaaaayyyyy before it was announced. Sony has been prototyping that thing ever since the Z7 came out... and possibly before that. But hey, ya guys didn't hear a word from me. Why? Cuz it made the announcement all the better. Plus... I didn't have all the facts. All I knew was that it was an all-black headphone thing, prototype, closed-back, with an accompanying amp/DAC thing that was also completely black, and also the jack it was using was different.

 

I missed something. I had a feeling that I shouldn't have slept last night.

Don't want this thread to get derailed into another conversation about how we run this forum, but as the person being censored, I think it was justified in this case. The only reason I said anything at all is because I assumed that more information about the headphones was already made public. I know Christian from MD is an admin, but that doesn't give us the right to treat them any differently than other vendors when it comes to being respectful of details on unreleased products, especially pricing. That was my bad for getting ahead of myself when I saw the thread, it's just been a long 4 months since that conversation.

 

Today I got my Jotun.
Tomorrow we will know hd 6xx (probably the drop will start).
The day after tomorrow, ZMF new headphones preorders will start.

Now I believe there exists a something called 'destiny'.

 

I only know that this weekend is the meet, and if Massdrop already has this headphone, then I want to see it and be able to stea... eh... buy it off them at the meet!
