Is this headphone any good? One of the few headphones I haven't heard.

So far I am enjoying it. I am still waiting on the 1.1 upgrade kit, but in stock form its pretty good with enough power behind it. I think that it works very well as a compliment to the HD800. Just an easy listen overall with good bass extension and smooth mids/treble.

Hearing a 2.3 with a modded mk 4 for hd800 was a big listening event for me. It hasn’t been the same since. I assume eaglewings had a similar experience

The JAR800 will be back with me in a week or so which will be the first time i have heard this combo.

I am pretty sure part of this revelation today is a new set of rectifiers.

It does have a charm to it, always thought I could live with a 0.11 after having the 0.1 here.
Pretty sweet if you got a spdif to feed them.

Never heard BA but having heard some EC amps (and having one myself) I would imagine they sound quite different

That’s the problem. Both sound great! Starlett has more euphony while BA has more detail and “deliberate” accuracy of stage.

@rhythmdevils Got it from a guy, Todd, local to me who bought it from Doug years ago after a show. He goes by skullguise in HF and Head-case. Re. Your comment. We can work that out!

It’s not overly difficult, but you have to be careful and slow. Lots of components (small) on the board. Some flux and wick can go a long way. Lots of videos on YouTube to show you what your in for!

the mag slider is convenient and easy to clean, but unfortunately does not seal tightly enough to prevent a spill if you knock the mug over

If they could have made it leak proof it would be perfect. Only other complaint is that it keeps things scolding hot too long ;)

Yeti was a contributor to my switch to strong black coffee over ice. Who the hell can wait 6 hours for hot coffee to cool off enough to drink.
