Well, I think you do need to show ID (such as driver's license) before entering the Terminal. And if you behave appropriately, Jerome might strip you naked and inspect your cavities in the name of lov... err... national security.

That is, in American airports. Dunno, can't remember otherwise.

LOL! I remember going to ELP from LAX. Basically nobody gave a shit about me (as usual). Going back from ELP to LAX at some point I almost got strip searched. Thing have calmed down about since then I think.

Makes sense. It's just odd getting on the plane without showing. But it makes loading faster. Anyway, made it down,just a bit later than expected :)

When 9/11 happened I was in China. Afterwards in February I flew to Thailand and back and the lack of security flying out of Thailand was kind of horrifying. There were two soldiers standing at a metal detector. It kept going off and they would just wave everyone through. Unsettling to say the least!
