Unfortunately I have to sleep (2:40 AM here). I'll get back to everyone as soon as I wake up. I still have 3 days to decide anyway :D. Thanks again for this wonderful forum and to all the amazing people who helped.

@Mirdon to answer your question, about 1 month of gentle use. I bought the HD650 because I didn't enjoy them very much.

I'm assuming the Massdrop PC37X is your best bet.

I see. I wish I'll have the luxury of using open headphones without my noisy house one day :(. Still can't find a SoundMagic seller on Amazon that ships to my Country. Can't buy it outside of Amazon as well since my balance is there. I'll probably purchase the DT770.

Quick question though, what should be my priority? An Amp or a DAC for improved audio quality? My only setup now is the D1080-IV speakers hooked on my motherboard's ALC887 output. I couldn't seem to find anything wrong with it, I like its sound, it's clear and I could very easily understand my tv shows and way way better than my past $50 speakers. But then again I've never heard what it "should" sound. Although I'm really really satisfied with their sound, if the DT770 sounds the same as that then I would have no problems whatsoever.

Oh wow, didn't know those existed. Unfortunately I really need the headphones since I can't get any work done and there's no active drop on them.

My vote goes to the 598cs. I use them at work with a Fulla 2 and for what they cost, I think they do a pretty darn good job.

Are they comfortable? Can I replace them with velour :D? I'm really a sucker for comfort and I've read the ears get toasty on the 598cs. About the 598cs and Fulla 2, do they honestly have a "massive" difference? I've seen exaggerated claims on head-fi, something about having "hobo's" headphones when you don't have them and when they used it with a dac/amp then it's like an angel descended and let them borrow their headphones.

If you want a PC-audio a USB-DAC/Amp helps a lot. The Fulla 2 is worth the money.

Stock the HD598 already sounds good. Trust your ears first...

If the 598cs is anything like the original 598, you can wear them for days without any discomfort. Also, original 598 had an impedance peak at 100Hz which changed the sound a bit from a source with a higher output impedance. Not sure if that is the case with the closed version?

The only thing stopping me from getting the HD598cs is that it has pleather and is only $20 cheaper than the dt770. Would be awesome to find someone having these two headphones and for them to drive it through their motherboard's audio. And the only thing stopping me from the dt770 is the whole amp thing.

Unfortunately they're pleather unlike the velour 598s. As for impendance on the 598cs, they're 23 ohms. I've read a few reviews and they said it's actually more of a closed version of the 558 instead of the 598.

Even the stock ear pads are very good, soft and comfortable.

Get the standard HD598 and you are done. A DT770 can be fun if you are a minor bass-head.

If you still cannot make your mind up get the KSC75 and you get a lot of headphone for almost no money.

Funny thing is I don't know what I like :p, I rarely listen to music but bass uhmm I think my games would benefit that I think? If only the Sennheiser 598cs were $100 again, then I would've definitely 100% purchased them from day 1 but now that they're exactly $150 and only $20 less than a dt770, I'm having a hard time choosing. Also, minor issue as well, I've heard that the 598cs doesn't isolate well?

KSC75, what is that thing? I've never seen anything like that lol.

I think the question needs to be asked, why are we helping and accommodating a noob who doesn't give a shit about music. I don't like to be a dick to anyone, but is this really the purpose of this forum?

I think it might be because he is interacting in a way that is an object lesson to some other newcomers who, even if they give a shit about music, don't really give a shit about SBAF members. And, believe it or not, I was following this thread out of interest, not because I smelt drama: a different kind of headphone question/discussion.

He has not belched over anyone. Not even once. Hence: 0 Dislikes. So perhaps the answer is that it is ok to ask the wrong sort of question, if itis asked in the right sort of way?

    I see your point, though.

Because he asked a legit question and it's a topic that probably deserves it's own thread due to how different it is from most discussions here.

Although the OP does not listen to music often, he did state that sound quality is a concern which still relates to this forum, so I don't really see a problem here.

The tone, the "I don't know what I like" LOL and emoticon usage is grating.

From my interpretation, the emoticon usage only serves as a casual "haha", and not being disrespectful or whatever that you interpreted it as.

At first I had the same attitude as ice man and deep funk because I've thought of this as a forum for music lovers but I softened a bit on that. To me it's kind of preposterous to not care about music but that's a subjective attitude. If you look at the 15 front page posts of the forum a large majority are tech related and not music related. Only 4 of them are music related at the time when I looked just now. I'm sure there are times when none of the front page posts are really about music. When it comes down to it the main topic of this forum is audio tech moreso than music and this is a question in line with that topic. We can claim it's all about the music all we want but the posts tell the story and the large majority have little to do with the pure enjoyment of music.
