Feliks-Audio Elise Tube Amp Review (NOT)

I know. I've driven both. The chassis/suspension is inherently better on FR-S/BRZ. Also has lower CoG, better aero, better ergonomics (seats and pedal positions), and weighs a few hundred pounds less. I threw out the spare tire / tools, back seats / belts, put in a 2kg battery, and got a tune. In the end, I felt the BRZ was a better drivers car than the Cayman. Also one (there are two) of the Porsche dealers had a uppity attitude that turned me off from the brand.

 

Yes, it seemed like Jaime was shifting from lawful evil toward neutral, but the show really doesn't cover enough in ten episodes to develop stuff like this, and they also went on tangents that made zero sense (Dorne), which takes away even more time from developing the good plot lines.

 

Distortion, treble roll-off, etc. It's like what @Kon Peki said, he spent some spare change rolling what was suggested and decided to go back to the tubes the amp was made for.

The thing that peeves me the most is people like @hypnos1 and @connieflyer, who clearly don't know WTF they are doing, come here thinking they are prophets to bring us the light, or in their words "lead [us] asses to water, but better to leave them somewhere to die of thirst" or other shit "such ignorance is easy to shrug off" and "and then they gathered around their guru"

I mean WTF, what self-righteous assholes! We let them do their thing and don't bother to push our views on them at HF. But they can't stand the fact (and resort to passive aggressive name calling and the filling out of Internet butthurt forms) that when they push their views here, I don't agree with them and many of you as individuals don't either.

I mean, you don't see me saying "Oh stupid child!, I have attempted to bless you with esoteric knowledge to elevate you from level 1 tube roller to level 5 amp builder, but you refuse to see the light. You are but a fool to turn down this precious opportunity that comes only once every nine lifetimes!" Quite frankly, I don't give a shit what they do over there.

P.S. I am not against tube rolling. Some people here do some fancy tube rolling, but they know what they are doing. There is a difference.

 

I can't decide if the Super 7 is a tube rollers dream or nightmare. 3 pairs to decide on plus driver, and they all seem to matter. Simultaneously fun and exhausting. Took a lot of experimentation but got it where I want without near the level of bullshit some go through.

Sorry for the slight derail, but seeing all those adapters and tube combo abominations...god, can't even imagine that level of insanity you need to get to that point. Gives me a headache, and then the attitude coupled with it. Yeesh.
