NY Mini Meet, July 17

@sphinxvc Did you get the andromedas or the jupiters? I remember reading that you bought one of those before. I would love to hear them at the meet.

 

If anyone owns an HEK I would be interested in comparing them to my new modded HEK.

I could not show it before, because
Just before the last headfi meet my HEK had an unfortunate accident where one cup went into the other and smashed the inside!

I almost had a heart attack.
The soft case was to blame.
Now I have a new replacement unit that needs to be broken in.
Anyways, I have elevated the liveliness and detailing without loosing Soundstage,
And believe it would be even more beneficial to mod the HEX,
But the issue with these headphones, is the level of difficulty in being careful is probably too high for all but the most carefull .
Anyways I will bring also the hifiman edition S portable which I also like very much.
Maybe an hd800 also not sure.

I will be there. Can bring Cavalli Liquid Carbon; Oppo PM-2; Akg K7xx; Sennheiser HD 600. Since I will be taking public transport I would prefer to bring only two headphones. If people have a preference on what they prefer me to bring let me know. Otherwise I would plan on bringing the Oppo and the Senn (unless there will be a lot of other HD 600's in which case I can bring the AKG).

 

i'm in jersey of course but, don't know bout the meet. i been super busy lately and for this month i'm even more busy since trying to find a better job as of now.

 

Would been glad to and don't mind traveling a bit myself personally. Just gonna be super busy lately this month. But, if ever one in jersey then that be cool as well.

 

I wouldn't mind driving out to NJ sometime for a meet if it ever does happen in the future. The OP has been updated with some gear list.

I can dedicate my Yggdrasil to use with the Jade setup. I'll have my surface pro w/ spotify and tidal (if steelcannon wants to lend me his account). Maybe someone can lend me a good spdif converter to use with the setup. OR we can use your modded Sony as the source and connect it to the Yggdrasil with a coaxial cable. I think the Sony's coax will likely be better than the USB on the Yggdrasil. I'll be sure to get there early so that I can plug in my Yggdrasil and make sure it's warmed up by the time everyone else comes. Or @SteelCannon can pick up my Yggdrasil ahead of time and leave it there as well. Either is fine with me.

 

I could use the balanced out of the Yggdrasil to hook up to the carbon as it is balanced only but does have a balanced pass through if you want to hook up another balanced amp,
The sony is only RCA input
I also have a audiophileo 2 if you want to use coax to feed the Yggdrasil A2

 

Yes, you can definitely use the Yggdrasil's balanced outputs to go to the carbon. Your Sony has a digital coaxial and optical output, correct? So it would be Sony (via coax) -> Yggdrasil balanced output -> Carbon.

I'm probably not going to bring my valhalla 2 unless someone wants me to.

 

Yes the sony has optical & coax out,so bring some cds you have that you want to listen to.

 

Just as a reminder, please bring extension cords, surge protectors, and extra power cables if you have.
