Sony Z1R Loaner?

    Would like us to reconsider this for the loaner program. It's obvious the sound is colored, but I have received reports from a few people who I trust who say the sound is quite beautiful.

    I'll put up the bucks until we sell the Utopias.

    The Eikon is making a loaner run in the EU. I am sure in time, @sorrodje will provide us with measurements.

    Does Sorrodje also have access to a Z1R? Does the US side have access to an Eikon?

    If not, and one of our esteemed US based review/measurbators wanted a simultaneous Eikon, we could do that. I only briefly heard Z1R on Sony's underwhelming amp, but I think it's an interesting comparison

    I am interested. What I heard at RMAF seemed like warm and bassy plus some "sparkle" mixed together in both a comforting, enveloping feel (not smothering) and exciting at the same time. Not my preferred sound necessarily, but I think worth checking out at home to be sure.

    The Eikon is heading West as soon as the Euros are done playing with it (it's not shipped yet though).
    I'm sorta guessing we could do the same with the Z1R.
    There's a 95% chance I'm coming to SF in June. I can be the mule.

    Just a quick update - if y'all are interested in getting a Z1R, I'd recommend making a price tracker on camelcamelcamel for the amazon.co.uk page for the Z1R. I was able to get a brand new one for $1496 shipped to the US sold by Amazon and it will arrive between 2/18-2/24. This happens occasionally and some have even reported getting it for $1400 shipped to the US before.
