Having sold my mjolnir2 with brilliant balanced preamp outs, I need cables to go from RCA to 1/4" mono to drive my lsr305 from the incoming valhalla2. I must be searching wrong, because my amazon string is giving me garbage. Is there something I am searching wrong? Anyone have recommendations? I am NOT looking to spend any significant money on this. We are talking like "Cables2Go" and monoprice level here. It will be a short (10' or less) run.

I am pretty sure that those are a 1/4" stereo, not mono because it is a balanced input. Those speakers also take XLR connections. Use these:

f**k YES! THANK YOU!! I am sorry I can only like your reply one time.

EDIT: this is perhaps too enthusiastic a response, but I was really wanting something beefy like this, and alcohol was definitely a factor when I was writing this response (see post #2006 below).

I've had this cable in the past for your literal purpose, until I got my Mjolnir 2, ironically https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-CPR-202-Stereo-Interconnect-Cable/dp/B000068O17 I'd send it to you but mine is shorter than 10ft and also have no freaking idea where it is since I moved (may have gotten rid of since Mjo2 is my endgame, idk)

Also I have these adapters for the same purpose which is nice if you already have an appropriate RCA cable
    https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-GPR-101-inch-Adaptors-pieces/dp/B000068O3S/
I know I have these still somewhere

Edit: Lol I'm redundant, late to the party, took too long to respond and didn't refresh

nvm... ...didn't see the posts above.

I will just say, those hosa's are the definition of "it's a cable." I have some of those very ones and they have held up for years. No isolation/noise/connection issues. Solid cables, for sure.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. I am trying to order before the new old schiit arrives at week end. I currently have long xlr cables, and no idea if I have any (available) RCAs that will cover the intended distance. I will probably have to buy more than just adapters. Still, I think just about every option available has been presented, which is very helpful.

    Also...
... I never said I was very good at searching, and alcohol may have been a factor.

Something to consider in the future is to skip the headphone amp and use a preamp that will convert a single ended signal to a balanced one. Something like this:

    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/217366-REG/Rolls_MB15B_MB15b_Promatch_2_Way_Stereo.html

Or if your DIY skills are good enough you can do this:

I am about to get some CIEMs and I need to get some ear molds made. Does anybody know of good place to get them done in the Santa Monica, Venice, Marina Del Rey, etc. area?

Folks, good phono stage to pair with RP3, AT33-EV cartridge into Rag and Mainline for use with HD800 and might bring my Energy RC-10 speakers home from the office though I really think I should audition some LS50s instead?
Currently using a Musical Fidelity V-LPSII stage with aftermarket power source but looking to upgrade and thinking it will make a worthwhile difference.

Gonna hit you up for more info, but try posting this in the turntable advice thread. I think it might get seen by the correct eyes there (aka @shaizada the Mr miagi of turntable advice).

What type of sound do you have and what are you looking for? Budget? I know the Ray Samuels Audio Nighthawk has alot if fans here.

Those are both great options, thanks. I plan to switch to a non headphone amp pre in the near future, but schiit have indicated they will be releasing speaker stuffs this year, and the schiit show is soon, so I just need temporary relief. I wanna see what they release before I make any purchases from them or anyone else.

What would you all recommend? AK JR or Ipod Touch 6th Gen? Those seem to be the only two choices with decent UI...

Having heard neither in a critical analysis type setting, AK Jr by a mile. iPod touch = must stay within apple ecosystem, no expandable memory, arguably inferior sonics (I understand this depends on what you are driving), and a host of "features" you probably don't need in player, and no meaningful tactile navigation (its touch screen or bust). Devil's advocate will say that if you are already effectively embedded in apple, and like the added possibility from all the apps, and intend to use other portable dac/amps/etc, then go for the touch; as an added bonus you can sing "you've got the touch, you've got the POWER ... YEAH YEAH YEAH!" to yourself under your breath every time you plug in your headphones... on second thought, get the touch.

Hope that makes the benefits, as I see them, clear.

The AK Jr's interface is slow and laggy. The button and jack placement is awkward. Those are the reasons I got rid of mine after a week.

The dx90's interface isn't anything special but at least it is easy to use, fast, and responsive. Having the physical buttons is a huge benefit when using the dx90 in my pockets. Anyone with a dx80 care to comment if the interface is a bit better?

Umm... I guess I should update, it's been too long. (probably most of you don't remember or hadn't seen my question then,) but I was looking for an upgrade from my hifiman he-400i, as per my needs you guys highly recommended the hd650 with a good rig.

Well, I ended up jumping on the B-stock cherry Omni. The reasons I did this was because, I wanted isolation, I wanted deeper sub-bass which I would not get with hd650 (unless I had a really high end rig?) I believe the Omni is going to best suit my preferences and tastes. Thank you all again for your advice. Sorry I didn't listen to you and get the 650 :p but the Omni seemed much better for my needs, and in the end it was my personal decision so yeah.

    cheers!|{

Can anyone help me to decide which one to go with? I am thinking to get Stax Headphones and my choice is between Stax SR207 or Stax Lambda Signature. Former is pretty new and latter one is originally came out to market 1987. I was told that Lambda Signature is one of the best Stax headphone ever made but it is quite old so not sure good it is comparing with newer model. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
