The Head-Fi Healing Thread

I was under the impression that metalheads were aware of this? All I ever see is complaining about this exact thing from my friends who are into it.

Bands always find new ways to screw up as it's metal. Spinal Tap wasn't inaccurate.

 

This is quite an entertaining thread. But I wonder how fast someone would get banned if they linked it on headfi

 

Haha...I would give a KC06 and a Tenore to have seen that.

But I knew your story (well, kinda...didn't know you almost made Jude cry ).

When you read an old thread, or you glance the back pages of a current thread, you often see the "Banned" banner next to the names of established members who had been posting for years. Most of these guys are not troublemakers like that infamous guy called Marv. Also, most of them (at least as far as I can tell) where not members of changstar, so they were not posting on HF to piss someone off.

 

I'm a frequent user on head-fi, despite all it's flaws. I mostly use it to keep myself updated on new gear though, not the impressions for those mind you.

The other day I tried to help a new user with information regarding TH-X00 and posted links to impressions both from head-fi and here. Soon after I received a private message where I was told the links to SBAF had been deleted and that I in the future should refrain from linking or refering to said place. Aparently they do not allow that on head-fi. I then asked why that is. That was 4 days ago, still waiting for the reply.

 

They're really evil.

 

Sounds like it would be deleted in milliseconds so probably not worth the bother of getting an account there.

 

And now another user has been banned. He didn't like MrSpeakers Ether and apparently you're not allowed to say that. LOL.

 

The ban email read, "See that word 'Sponsor' in this link, bitch? That means keep your critiques to your f'ing self. Hope that helps, Jude"

Isn't it funny that in a thread titled "mrspeakers-ether-impressions-thread" so many people were banned for stating their impressions of the Mr. Speakers Ether 'phones?

 

That is the verbatim email?

 

I hope I get to hear the Ether someday, regardless of its really bad reputation. I'd like to see what it actually has to offer.

 

Can we ban this guy? I can't believe we'd let someone post to SBAF who is hating on the 650. I believe the word I'm looking for is blasphemy?!

 

Ha...I'm not sure he deserved a ban, but he sure asked for it.

They didn't remove his posts, but they still banned his ass. I wonder if he got a warning or if they just let the axe fall.

The thing is, in the Orpheus thread Jude wrote about how greeeeaaaat the HD650 is (kissing Sennheiser ass, I suppose), but then they ban someone for stating that they think the HD650 is better than the Ether.

Freaking HF, you can say all the nice things in the world about a headphone, just don't go comparing headphones to each other (for fear of offending one of the sponsors).

 

I was being facetious obviously. I wouldn't know what the ban email said.

 

I just read the Hachiko Ether posts. Not a defense of the ban, but I'm not sure it was simply because not liking a product of a sponsor. He was certainly trolling a little, saying ten 650 are the price of the Ether, using the word robbery, a sort of personal attack on Dan... Etc

 

To make sure, could he be referring to a deal out there for $150 650's? Link?
