    not to my eye. Studio draws horizontal lines. a well defined middle layer of black, mostly uninterrupted except for the knob.
    top and bottom plates don't detract from style, only layers the black. silver top attracts the eye to glass / chrome tubes.

    the black schiit wraparound is more half burrito and leaves the silver side seeming an afterthought.
    silver side plates don't match or draw the eye to anything, except cables in the back perhaps.

    If you're good with a knife, you could vinyl wrap the sides with some matte carbon fiber style vinyl. Would give it an interesting appearance.

    It is sort of a pity about the knob though. It's screaming to be replaced with a wooden one on the black chassis.

    Hmm... Black and copper/brass actually...

    Byproduct of the way the chassis is engineered. Most are a U chassis (like Valhalla) while the Jotunheim is an L chassis. Either way the top is a separate piece from the sides. If you go back and read why black Schiit shows up sometimes it's because it's a great way to repurpose B-stock aluminum chassis' that have been scratched or have cosmetic imperfections. Thus no reason to do anything different to the sides. Long story short, I still vastly prefer the black Schiit over the silver, when it is available.

    yup, I understand why they do it- and that there's no reason to "paint the sides" black also.
