I noticed the LOVE LP is on sale for 15.99. But I also noticed the pressings over at elusivedisc.com have more songs listed than the one on the beatles site, but it's also $45! Any info on that anyone?

I ended up picking up the U.S. Albums box set and all four movies on Blu-ray. Still debating about the mono vinyl box set. No record player yet, but may someday when I'm out of the apartment game.

Just went for this. I hesitated because, like many, I know every note of these songs. But I've only ever heard the stereo versions and couldn't resist hearing what the mono sounds like.

 

You won't be disappointed. These are the original mixes done by The Beatles and George Martin themselves and should be considered definitive for all the albums up until they started releasing only in stereo. Note that the mono CD set also includes the original stereo mixes of both Help! and Rubber Soul on the same disc as the mono mix.

As a bonus, there is less compression and limiting on the Beatles in Mono CD set as compared to the same albums in the 2009 stereo set, and thus more dynamic range. All these albums are much less fatiguing on headphones because you don't have drums, guitar/bass, and vocal reverb on one side and vocals and other random instruments on the other. I also prefer them on speakers.

Make sure to supplement the mono set with the individual 2009 stereo remasters of at least Abbey Road and Let It Be if you don't have them. Add Yellow Submarine if you're a completist.

LOL. Also, isn't the DAC supposed to go on the bottom, so you don't hinder the amps ability to dissipate heat (and avoid heating up the dac)?
