    If this were Asgard 2 or lyr, it would burn my house down for sure. But the Jot doesn't get normal schiit hot. I left an 1" clearance on each side and 1/2" at the top. I guess I'll know soon enough if there is a heat problem.

    I'm just postulating here, but if you like the bright beyerdynamic sound signature, even modded HD650 and Jot will still sound quite warm to you. I certainly may be wrong, and I look forward to hearing this combination at !CanJam and at least stock HD600's and Jots at RMAF. I'm pretty curious too as my tastes have evolved (heck, I think you are using my old T90, right?). At any rate, you might want to find one to borrow first, or get it from Amazon so you can return it if so inclined.

    The dac is Soekris Dam 1021 the (early diy version) with pretty much every trick applied to it. Shunt psu-s, JLsounds USB interface and 'fixed' decoupling on Shift register's power + some very nice diy filters. You can read latest evalution I made with speakers here :some ramblings.

    I kinda got the feeling that HD800 got more love from the Jot. Probably because the SE or XLR out from EC amp don't differ that much, HD650 and HD800 are closer from it.

    may have found a flaw in Jotunheim- heat causing dirty feet?

    during two separate stints with Jotu stacked on top of a super clean Gungnir Multibit, after 2 days of constant power up- lifted up Jotu to find dark gray smudges on Gungnir Multibit metal.
    rub with a damn towel, smudges were removed.
    but they returned a couple days later.

    will wipe off the Jotu feet better this week, see if the multi-device heat causing smudging again.

    of course, could move Jotu to the desk, but my balanced cables are pretty short out Gungnir Multibit, thus stacking is convenient.
