Pads are almost as important to sound quality with headphones as room acoustics are with speakers.

Design looks less "premium" as well IMO. The original T1s and the mk 2 both had a much classier look. The description on the website is..not encouraging, they are bragging about boosting the bass when I think the main complaint was the brightness. Will be interesting to see some impressions. Also they are a thousand bucks now, given that you could get the mk2s for 650 pretty often that is a hard sell.

Yeah they definitely do not look as nice as the first two generations. I had a pair of T1 Gen1 back when I had a shitty AGD dac and Woo WA2... the Warmpoo of the WA2 made the high end tolerable, could be bad on a brighter sounding system. They seemed fairly technically capable and paired with the right dac and amp could possibly be a pretty decent headphone. Don't hear much talk of them on SBAF though.

I'll let you in on a secret.. HD600 doesn't benefit from new pads like the HD650 does.

We have gotten some really good randos lately. I can think of two off the top of my head. There might be more that are not coming to mind.

I want to go into speakers more, but for the next 4 years, wont invest much in audio (especially big audio) with college. After that I could be qualified to make my own. And as I promised before, if I make a speaker or headphone company, you get one pair.

That headphone wakes up with a proper amplifier. When you modify it like @trung225 did you have an end-game headphone.

i actually made that mistake several years ago, selling my 6x0s time after time just to regret it the next day. Oh silly me.
