To watch FOTNS you must have muscles and support the strong men movement. Then you burn all animu up and only will watch shows that's for men and by men that's borderline bara.
So "Violence Jack", "Devil Man", "Apocalypse Zero", "MD Geist" for starters? After that "Akira" and you yell "Tetsuo!" until your lungs give out, thus you get some juice and watch "Mango" and accept that you are a dork? Understood.
I agree but the ost for the Manga UK release of Space Cobra the movie by Yello is amazing. What other song samples a freaking golf swing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvcUHphENxk
And Goku Midnight Eye. What anime is more made by man for man than a anime that includes a midget riding a robotic woman with handlebars that shoots lazers?
Even with Yello the movie was meh, TV version 10x better. Goku Midnight Eye disappointment. I jizz over anything Yoshiaki Kawajiri and Buichi Terasawa, but this was one of Kawajiri's weakest efforts. It had the looks, plot, etc., but it came out one giant meh. I still say Cyber City Oedo 808 was Kawajiri's best's efforts. Few times I'll use Manga UK dub over Standard Excellent Japanese VA.
I think the movie was pretty good at retelling the first 12 episodes of series. Doesn't nearly provide the character development and viewer investment but as a supplement to the series I liked it.
Goku Midnight Eye (only the first one) was just amusing as a flashback to the 80s. Definitely ranks lower compared to Kawajiri's other works like Cyber City, Wicked City and Running Man. Manga UK's ost for Cyber City is way better than original. The original is too Popy and doesn't capture the mood at all.
I love those old dubs. There is something charming about them that adds a lot of nostalgia. I can't tell the difference between a good or bad Japanese performance so Id rather just sit back and lazily watch my dubbed anime. And some dubs make mediocre or bad anime into so bad they are good.
