    WE16a horn:
Vintage audio came up as a topic and I remembered how I got to hear the WE15 in the Silbatone room at High End a couple years ago. That was honestly one of the best audio experiences I've ever had. I'm super grateful that I got to experience that. I may have even preferred it without the woofers and super tweeters, as I didn't find the integration particularly impressive. I wonder how the WE16a compares. Less bass extension?

The WE16a seems like it could fit into a large room in a real, modern stereo setup. Now then it would likely be too rolled off for general listening, but the kind of microdynamics, the scale of the sound. It just sounds so lively. If possible I'd like to own a replica of this horn or a similar one myself at some point.

Geez, those components look like they were pulled off a cold war era submarine.

The WE-15 was around 1928 so the subs probably copied the design ;)

I know he’s also collaborating with Joseph Crowe for a multi-cell Altec horn

Speaking of Devon Turnbull, he’s going to have a listening room setup at SF MOMA starting on May 4th.

    https://www.sfmoma.org/exhibition/art-of-noise/

Would be cool to hear from Bay Area members about his system if they happen to go
