@nishan99 - I listened to the new album because people in my house are TS fans and it's rotating in right now. Sounds fine but a lot of it is unoriginal to me. Seems like a lot of pick and choosing what era she wanted a particular song to sound like.

I look at the centre of the screen. Seems to work for me for both reading and graphics photo work.

I just wish there was a *half-a-page down* key. (I use Pale Moon, a fork of an earlier Firefox before it became ugly, in case anyone has suggestions)

I do not have a monitor in the toilet.

Monitor height is not the main issue for me as I can always add more books. Rather the keyboard on the desk is too high and it’s causing some carpal tunnel type issues. From what I read ideally your arms should be floating with wrists off the surface. Sort of like playing piano

This is also one of the downsides of using a DAP over a smartphone. Being totally immersed in the music is cool but I might miss phone calls or certain alerts in that case.

Btw, I sort of hate that alarms on the iPhone are only through speaker. Sometimes I’d rather be notified through headphones. I understand the reason why they designed it like that but the alarm going off in the library sucks

Public transport mode: check volume; enough bass, mids and highs, double check exits; keep (at least one) elbow on guard to push through people; for exit tracks use high-energy music (rave/mosh-pit) and tap feet; 30 seconds before exit secure spot at doors; move like water, hit the exit like a tidal wave.

@Qildail Close by, in Georgia. North Carolinians aren't overenthusiastic about much of the south. We're quite friendly toward Tennessee; and, in private, a little hostile toward South Carolina. I can understand why. We're polite, warm, and unpretentious. And South Carolinians are gentlemanly or ladylike military sorts. (They have pole up their ass!)

YouTube is getting scary at predicting things. I was listening to death metal I think it was and abruptly wanted to shift gears to a more mellow vocal piece— auto play had that selfsame song queued up right after and I don't think I've sequenced them that way before.

Very loose understanding: Front horns are for frequencies above and back horns are for frequencies below?
      1. yotacowboy
        yotacowboy
I'm probably totally wrong, but I'll give this a try: length of the horn affects the amplitude of the reinforcement; longer horn = more loud. Size of the horn mouth affects the frequencies the horn "amplifies"; the larger the horn mouth, the lower the frequency the horn will provide acoustic impedance coupling to the air volume in the room.

So, for bass frequencies, and depending on the driver(!) you'll want a longer horn with a fairly large mouth. But for something like a tweeter, you'll want a shorter horn length, and less-larger horn mouth.

Wasn’t a reason to push SACD was because they had copy protection that CDs didn’t have?

Of course they needed to have features like higher resolution otherwise there was zero reason to switch from CD redbook. But I feel like the real reason was so you couldn’t rip it

@Cspirou Yes, and that is IMO the most effective disc based copy protection out there. There are still precious few devices that can be hacked to output the digital signal from an SACD.
