No idea. I didn’t send Scooby Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang to investigate. Schiit serial numbers are tricky to keep track of.

I sold this one to the current seller a few years ago, I haven't kept up with the iterations of the amp but I think it's likely a V1. He was trustworthy as a buyer. Seems to be a good price.

 

I'm terribly interested in AVCs. Saw this listing and now I know where the box landed. Would love to know what you think of its sound.

Schiit Yggdrasil A2 $1600

 

@dncnexus if only it was a MiB....I really need something that works SE

 

The A2 sounds great single-ended too. I've been schooled on this by several folks recently. The Yggdrasil A2 doesn't have "gimped" SE outputs despite the rumors. I do of course stick with the balanced outs with my Mjolnir 3, but I've been told there is absolutely no reason to avoid using the Yggdrasil A2 just because you have an amp that only has SE inputs. I currently have my A2 SE outs feeding my SW51+, and it sounds quite a bit better than the OG BF2 I had before.

I actually went through this a week ago when I was looking at getting the new Aegis tube amp from ZMF. I thought I might be bottlenecking the amp using the SE outputs of my A2, but quite a few credible folks told me it would work just fine. I know some people here use transformers to externally convert the balanced outputs of their DACs to SE, and I imagine the flavor added from the transformer could offer up some better synergy in a particular setup. I've personally decided to stop worrying about the theoretical inferiority of my A2's RCA outputs.

 

I currently own a MiB, and have owned the other Yggdrasil in the past.

As for balanced or SE, I didn't really notice any difference tbh on the A2. I had the A2 awhile ago so can't really compare to the MiB, but neither I was that upset about the SE, I always thought they sounded good personally.
