I plan on playing it on steam when it comes out. I usually wait until after the first patch to play games. Bought a Valve controller just for the game because everone said mouse and keyboard was tough with Dark Souls 3.

I'm going to recommend Talos Principle to you guys. For no other reason than that it's one of my favorite games of all time. If you like puzzles and/or philosophy this is the game for you. Also if you like Portal you should like this game, it's pretty versatile.

I'll be on PS4. I can't imagine playing with a mouse and keyboard. Crazy!

I went through Witcher 3 just fine with mouse and keyboard. I might start of DS3 with M&K, but if it is a no go, move to the Valve controller.

Anyone playing the Tree of Savior (a.k.a the spiritual successor of the original Ragnarok Online) on Steam? Wanted to give it a shot but the dev blocked my region*.

*Can be circumvented by receiving it as a gift though, if anyone willing to help "gift"-ing it to me, let's talk about it, I'll send the fund through PP or something.

I'm about 20 hours into DKS3 so far and using my TH-X00s while I play. I started with them plugged directly into the dualshock 4 and meh. Last night I dug out my Astro Mixamp and wow what a difference. This game sounds great. The Mixamp isn't all that great as an amp, but even with some small amount of amplification, the combat and environmental audio sounds amazing.

I've tried plugging headphones directly in to the DS4 controller as well. It does work if you absolutely need it, but it may be the single worst headphone amp I've ever heard. :D

@TwoEars As someone that got through the Portal games and Quantum Conundrum, The Talos Principle is great, but so goddamn hard.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Undertale. It was released last year and I recently beat it, and I gotta say it was the best game I've played in the last 1-2 years or so. Being a 16-bit indie game the graphics are nothing to write home about, but damn it had one of the finest storyline and awesome music (mostly 16-bit music but still awesome as heck) that I purchased the entire OST album in FLAC from their website and have been enjoying it since. It took me approx. 6-7 hours to beat it on my first run to watch the true ending (though there are multiple endings including the bad, scary ones), so play time is rather short. You are in for a real treat if you could--despite the graphics--give it the benefit of the doubt and play for yourselves. No surprise it was voted the best game of all time by users at GameFAQs.

Now waiting patiently for Uncharted 4 and FFXV...

It's a little bit harder than portal I agree, but I really liked the philosophical aspect of it. It's actually a pretty deep game when you think about it.

If you like these games I can also recommend "Portal Stories - Mel", it's a fan made mod of portal but it's just as big and polished as portal I would say. it's pretty darn good. Does however have some pretty hard puzzles in it towards the end, harder than Talos Principle. I had to cheat on 2-3 of them.

The Talos Principle is great. The soundtrack is nice too IMO.

It will be interesting to see what they change. Religion needs a rework, some resources need small rebalances, and the AI is always a contentions topic, but civ 5 was fairly solid.

Agreed. Can't wait till 23okt and see what they make of it. Would be cool if they introduce some things to shake stuff up. Right now once you get ahead on science and not slack on military you've pretty much won.

Politics definitely needs more depth maybe through espionage to really f**k with the competition.
Start something like a revolt where part of an empire gets split off and becomes a new faction. Cause anarchy in some way. And perhaps natural disasters or hell maybe even aliens. Lots of cool stuff you can do.

Throw a little simcity into the mix.

Ugh, read the article on polygon, they changed cities. Ugh, it's going to take so much math to reoptimize output again...

Yeah sounds like allot of micromanaging too especially if you want to conquer a big map. Hope they keep puppets around.

The new DOOM has been taking up all my gaming time lately. I've sunk about 30 hours in to just the campaign so far and I've still not seen everything there is to see. Fantastic entry in the series.

New doom single player rocks my socks. Multiplayer not so much.
