Making any large scale changes to the home is always stupidly stressful, good luck :))))

Any advice? Also, I'm always worried they're casing my home for future burglary.

    It's not burglary, but worksmanship.

@Kunlun if I may butt in: look for vulnerabilities in things like windows and old doors, reinforce with bars and have different types of locks. Attic and basement too if you have em. Checking windows is one thing I allow myself to indulge in paranoia. Walls don't really work (haha); got a nice new supervillain gate and the family heard footsteps on our roof recently.

It also helps to obscure view of the inside because if anyone really is casing the house they'll be keeping track of your schedule. Don't let strangers see inside, lots can be caught in a glance. Be careful of sides of the house abutting walls, they could enter by scaling the wall and then coming in from the roof. Also, glass doors are pretty but dumb.

Hey! At least it's somewhat justified in my case, haha. Also, speaking of cats, turns out the new one doesn't like Pikachu: http://imgur.com/a/u5wctPP

Painting, roofing, plumbing, siding, bathroom remodels, etc. All highly disruptive and stressful. Hang in there.

Almost done. Today we pay it off. Have to repatch a wall and fix some details on the painting over the weekend.

They installed 3 wrong and cheaper siding panels on the top. But they replaced them. Messed up edge finishing around the chimeney, but they re-did it. Did not apply primer/paint at the bottom. But they fixed it. Caused a short in the street number / door bell. I troubleshooted it and re-did their fix. And so on. Very stressful. The Association does not like the color, even when they approved it...

Tell me about it! They approved our color 9 years ago. And there is at least one other house with the exact same color. There is a control-bitch complaining. I know her name, but we have not fully identified here. She is getting on my and our neighbors nerves. She got all the way into the backyard of one to take pictures. I think she is the only one with two siding colors. She better start threading carefully.

Funny thing is, I think I know her unit. She is the only one with 2 colors on ther siding: pee-yellow and fungus-water-green. No other house has two colors. She bettere thread carefully. I'm not the only one that is feed up with her shit.

More importantly: is there enough left over to clad your planned speaker cabs?

Not same materials. I need 2 4x8 MDF sheets. One for each monstruosity. I could see about plywood which is lighter and might save a little ($ and effort) on wood sheeting. But that's about it. I have a bit of 2x4s. Like over 20 ft. I hate leftovers.

You have Gladys Sharp, President of the HOA complaining about you. (Over the Hedge)

Something like that. The architectural president should take a stronger stance about her. You can't have things approved for many years and through multiple units. And then out of the blue put things in question, because of a "very vocal" person.

Lamest shit I've ever heard: "Oh, we are more like browns kind of folk, than blues kind of folk" WTF!!!?

To top it all off, we have to chose a different color than our immediate neighbors anyway. So I can't choose brown.

Should've put a winky on my earlier question - but blue house siding on big speaker cabs would look pretty cool...

No. No. Sometimes they do use plywood. Believe me. If there was plywood involved I would have had these guys cut some stuff for me while on the job.

As it is, when I get to it, I'll have the Homedepot guys do some cuts. 4x8 ft sheets are brutally large.
