I'm disappointed by the rarity of responses that aren't just "ear protection" since it's somewhat important to have your faculties with you when operating something that can chop your limbs off

The spec looks ridiculously similar to HD560S. Kinda suspecting it's more like pro-rebranded 560.

@Merrick He didn't, no; it was inherited and he had no idea what it was. I was surprised to get there and find the power tube socket and HP jack covered and removed.

Hard to argue w/ the price.

I wish it had anything todo with a V1 HE-560. I Thought my old HE-560 did a pretty darn good job bridging a gap between the HD6XX and HD800 for my tastes.

I still have the v1, although one of the connectors is kinda wonky. As long as I don't do anything crazy while I'm wearing them, it works fine.

I wish HFM would focus on making maybe 2--3 headphones really well, rather than 47 different half-baked models. Also this weird thing they've got going on with Adorama whey they list the MSRP $600--800 above its true value so they can put them "on sale" is, uh, interesting

Good point. My left ear is messed up in the midrange. I think that’s why I gravitate towards mid centric speakers and headphones and have low tolerance for lower treble glare and any kind of emphasis

Might explain why most super high end ORFAS setups at shows I have heard were way too loud and shouty. Ear piercing.

Wife bought me a Benchmade Barrage 580-2 for Christmas a few years ago. Pretty much my endgame edc knife.

@LetMeBeFrank Your wife gives good gifts. I've looked at that one a few times, I have a Benchmade CLA 4300 (auto) with a similar profile, though honestly I think I'd have preferred the assisted open/Axis lock on the Barrage.

I have a lowly Benchmade minigriptilian that was a also a wife Christmas gift. It has been a faithful partner for years.

@Scott Kramer it was my my first time trying out the PA speakers (EAW FR-122) but they did really well. The Marantz receiver had Audyssey correction so I got to weird out the neighbors with frequency sweeps.

My single purchase wasn't a Prime Day deal, but I need it: a pack of 200 record sleeves at 18.5c CDN per.

I scrolled a bit on Amazon.in[dia]. Nothing. And any interesting things were mostly like INR10 off... Or something really silly.

Used CDs are so cheap right now!

I still do both. Of course it was much easier finding the CD's in the US but I still like the streaming for discovering and exploring new stuff .

Ironically enough I am discovering more new music now than when I was streaming. I never had much luck with music discovery/suggestions on various services, but when I'm looking at $1 CDs and see an artist I'm remotely interested in I grab it.

Side note - Bernstein's Beethoven symphonies box set is the best music purchase I've made in a long time. More depth of expression in a minute than many entire albums in my collection.
