@Jinxy245 Ooh, looks interesting! I don't think so, guzhengs are friggin massive and I doubt they'd be able to cram one into that shot, but there are a few other instruments I recognise that I don't know the name of on there. I'm just a dweeb for relatively uncommon instruments, haha
@Jinxy245 the Chinese guy in that picture is holding an erhu @Lyander every Chinese mall I’ve ever been to has multiple places selling guzhengs. I’m a fan of ethnic instrumentation as well. Have you ever seen the movie Hero? If not then look up the Chess court scene. Not guzheng but you’ll like it
@Thad E Ginathom this is a korean instrument. Its pretty cool too. They change octaves during songs by sliding the bridge things around. i like Indian instruments too, been playing around with some nice samples of sarod.
@DigMe Yeah I knew that wasn't the instrument he was holding, but I think they might use one on the album....may be mistaken, but I thought it was apropos anyway. I really enjoy different Ethnic instrumentation as well. @Thad E Ginathom Oddly enough I pointed Lyander to her as well...I really enjoy Luna's music....FWIW it.s not the same, it's a gayageum which is probably related.
So that one's Korean, eh? It does look very similar. Must take a good eye to spot the difference. And you guys are probably horrified that I assumed the young woman to be Chinese.
@Thad E Ginathom the instruments would all look the same to me too probably if I wasn’t a musician who has an interest and has spent plenty of time in both Korea and China! Also, even Chinese people are bad at telling Koreans and Chinese apart so don’t feel bad.
@DigMe, Do you play those sort of instruments? Wow. And wow even if you don't: All musical ability impresses me!
I could tell the Japanese people from the Chinese people in a London crowd. But only after a decade of working for a Japanese company there. Chinese from other-Chinese: no clue.
Now I live in a diverse country where the native-born are highly skilled at taking each in at a glance.
