2 degree of freedom rotational vibrations problem, so not too simple, but I made it much more complicated an unsolvable in my head until I realized it was much simpler. Good, now I can actually do this take home test.
Double pendulum? Whatever the case, the most satisfying thing to do in complex mechanical problems is to just be like F THAT and linearize equations with small angle or small displacement approximations. U force that matrix to behave, buddy.
Also the shaft is two different sizes. My goal is to find the two diameters of the shaft to prevent the system from vibrating at its natural frequencies.
And then I work on it 20 min this way and realize the other way was actually right. Sometimes I hate engineering. But it will be so satisfying when I am done.
