guess I'm back to spinning silver discs? I kinda actually missed a bit of the CD ritual vs. Qobuz.

Ah sweet! The Audiolab is currently at the top of my possible CDT list for when I can finally get back to the UK and bring some of my CDs over, so good to know you're enjoying it

Perhaps you can compare to the Schiit transport if it's ever released. I looked into the Audiolab before and ruled it out because of the slot-loading drive.

Yeah - I grabbed this (here in the FS section) kind of on a whim, but I've been without a CDP/CDT for more than a couple years, and I got tired of waiting for Schiit Transport. I'll likely still grab one once they're available.

Hmm, color me interested. New at around $550 USD, a decent value?

Nothing around here to compare to other than Pi2AES but at used prices I'd say its worth it. after a couple nights spinning discs and comparing to streamer, the Pi2AES is a little more dynamic, exciting-sounding, front-row presentation. Audiolab is a little more wall-of-sound, in a good way. better space, more like generally 5th row presentation.

but closely mic'd stuff pops out in front of the speaker plane; spacious but well defined.Tonally, there's little difference between the two. Seems to be more a difference of dynamics (and quietness), and detail. Neither are remotely fatiguing, if that's a concern.
