I thought about the Hel, but needing the double USB power (computer port and wall wart) is giving me pause. Maybe there's just no batteryless, single USB-powered DAC/amp with enough current to drive the HD6XX well. I was hoping the Fulla 4 might, but it's obviously much less powerful than the Hel 2.
What's the objection to a battery? But without one, maybe Apogee Groove (haven't heard it myself, but it's liked by ears I know). 20 Ohm output Z though so not good for tricky multi-BA IEMs.
I already have a GOV2+ infinity I love. But for long sessions, the battery will run out and charging while playing doesn't work well. So I was hoping there was something batteryless and easily portable that would fit the bill.
With the Nano BL, it'll use USB power and charge while playing if you plug it in before turning it on. From a computer, that's how I've always used it. Note this is not the case with the Micro Sig - that always uses battery and has a separate charge port.
I wouldn't put it in the same class as any of my bigger amps, but I've used my HD650 from a Fulla 2 with no real complaints about ability to drive them.
Not extensively, but did 6XX again today to check. Seems like plenty of power, with more room on the volume dial than Hel v1. Was going to point you to the Cheap Dac Off thread, but I see you were there :)
Likewise, I find iFi Nano BL + HD650 Kiss to be perfectly serviceable for all-day office listening but no replacement for Jot2+BF2 or even bigger boi amps/dacs.
