The thing that really hit me, is that I went and test drove and then bought a new car yesterday, and for similar outlay over my Supra, the difference is immediate and immense, it fundamentally changes the game.

Whereas with the speakers it’s like a slight increase to bass definition, sound stage, and refinement across the board, which mostly disappears once’s engrossed in the music anyways

This is another episode of “soup struggles with audiophiledom”, that just happened to occur after I _finished_ my rig

Wisdom advises to avoid being impulsive. Put the big rig away for a few months. Live with the minimalist system. Then get it back out and re-evaluate.
