I interpret the 660S trying, but falling short of, the best of 600 & 650, while being less demanding amp-wise. I'm hoping JAR gets us closer to that, as that's how I'd describe my ideal headphone atm.

Does the higher sensitivity negate the impedance gains (in halving it from 6X0) or am I not understanding something about voltage requirements??

I think it's a fine headphone, but you're right, not really not 6X0-caliber... The JAR660S is miles better, but I don't know that the headphone itself is exactly redeemable (pls anyone reading, don't take offense—I've been spoilt by the JAR600s)

What they did to my boy, my sweet, sweet midrange is truly devastating. All wonky and timbrally not as correct, relatively; loses a lot of what made the 6X0 magical. Makes the highs annoyingly peaky too, even on the JAR model.

The pads are SO worn down. It really makes the stock 660S sound way worse.

I noticed! That's definitely a factor!!
