Let that sink in. Last decade, fedoras were worn, ironically or not, they. were. worn. Also I recall suspenders over t-shirts/short sleeve button ups. And western handkerchiefs as ascots. This shit was wild. Ppl did this on a daily basis.
Sounds like the 80s & 90s too. Flannel (grunge), shrink-to-fit 501s, Raiders of the Lost Ark. These were probably a nod to the 50s. The more things change....
@joch oh definitely! 50s workwear (engineer boots, selvedge denim, trucker/leather jackets too) was the inspo for a lot of decades, ig for me it was most pronounced in the early aughts-2010s bc I lived it and bought into it lol
Now the kids are back to raiding the undead past to bring forth a stillborn future, only this time it’s 90s/Y2K normcore/hip hop/grunge proper style. Fashion says more abt our society than I think we’re willing to admit.
Haha I feel old(er) now. I just want to add, it seems the previous iterations were better made. I have stuff from the 90s-00s that will probably outlast what is made these days.
Vintage clothes really were made better, hipsters were right about that at least haha. And yes the kids calling 90s “vtg” also makes me feel old and discarded lmao.
