What PI5 can do that PI4 can’t do?

If the Pi5 has a demonstrably faster processor, then maybe it can upsample HQplayer embedded to a higher bitrate than the Pi4?

    Roon Core would be nice.

I think the need for active cooling could be an issue for something like Pi2AES... it's going to need a pretty large standoff/extension on the pins to get high enough above the cooler. I've also read mention that some HATs will need software updates... not sure if that is in a given linux distro or is a firmware thing on the HAT...

The GPIO is the same. It should be compatible

That being said you don’t need that power for streaming audio. Even Pi3 is fine

I have gone ahead and ordered a couple of them and will be testing to see if they can be compatible at a lower power level so that a fan is not required.

Still rocking the 3. I’m not bragging. It’s good to know the HAT can run on recycled old skool equipment.

I have (2) pi3b+ based pi2aes (ropiee) and a pi4 based running hqplayer embedded. My only interest is whether the pi5 will allow me to up the bit rate to my spring2
