I look forward to hearing MIB, but I’m also intrigued by Jason’s mention of a possible “ultimate Yggdrasil” in the future.

Don't hold your breath waiting for that. You'll be dead before we figure it out.

@schiit, put A2 or LIM or MIB Yiggy in a custom (very expensive chassis) and sell for $5k to satisfy audiophiles with too much money looking for end game?

I expect that would work for part of the market, but we aren't cynical assholes.

Same. I was on the Bifrost 1 pre-order, and what excited me then (upgradability) still does it for me now with Yggdrasil. Really helps the ol’ upgraditis to have products that are, well, actually upgradable (even when they are technically sidegrades or flavors).

@internethandle yep! I still have like every variation of OG bifrost boards and USB boards in a cupboard somewhere. I had that dac a long time! Until it was preorder time for BF2!

I've slightly skimming in/out of the Yggdrasil thread since it has never been on my radar. This new unit pulls on the want rope. Will these be limited run, or will the new run of chips keep things going for a little. Always afraid of the day the SFD decides to skip town.

@RestoredSparda I definitely have a Bifrost USB 2.0 and maybe an Uber Analog board too clanging around in a drawer somewhere, also.

@M3NTAL They’re on a wait and see approach so far, but if it seems to be doing well in the initial run, MIB could be a permanent fixture, yeah.
