@zottel got me looking into the HEDDphone Two and I watched this YouTube review by Joshua Valour and he's just brutally honest, candid, knows his terms and his preferences, states them clearly, makes comparisons to other headphones. Great review. A first for me on YouTube.
I watched Joshua Valour's review that you linked to and I watched GoldenSound's review and they're very contradictory on "detail retrieval" and it's confusing. I'm curious was @zottel thinks once he gets ears on them.

The first version, which I admittedly only heard at CanJam off a Chord stack, was lifeless. it was the headphone equivalent of a Phonitor amp. Not sure v2 promises to be much of an improvement, if this review is anything to go by, which would be a shame.
Actually, I don’t like Joshua Valour at all, in many of his videos (including this one), I personally have the impression that he just pulls random stuff out of his ass and doesn’t really know what he’s talking about, kinda simulating a valuable review.
@bixby thsts unfortunate. I did watch other reviews of his after that one and he likes the DT990 which says a lot :-0 and he prefers as much bass as possible as long as it’s good quality haha. Well at least one YouTube review on the internet is good.
Regarding the HEDDphone Two, GoldenSound’s review got me thinking that this headphone is probably right up my alley regarding detail and and FR.
Judging from different reviews I read and saw, detail must be great if not breathtaking, but it might be lifeless and boring. Let’s see what I think of it when I get mine. :)
(TBH, while I never liked Valour, I especially hate THIS review because I want the HEDDphone Two to be good. :) On a more objective level, it’s strange how everybody praises timbre and detail retrieval, but he thinks it’s meh. His points on build quality might be legit, though.)
@zottel I really hope the HEDDphoe is awesome both for your sake and because it's a different driver technology, which I would love to see succeed and see more attempts at making it better.
@zottel I’m new to YouTube reviews (and always will be). Goldendound’s review was WAY better done and I trust it much more than the guy who says “tambre” and likes the DT990 and “as much bass as possible while the quality is still good”. Josh’s review was just the first I’ve seen that I could watch and wasn’t complete nonsense. Goldendounds review was actually very good.
