Since you already went into trouble messing around with individual driver measurements - your speculation does not make sense.

The problem is the 3rd and 5th order distortion of the midrange driver is so high that I'm not sure it's worth spending the money. So far all I invested is a day of my time.

Same thing for the bass drivers btw, but it's more forgiveable there.

I mean my dad asked me if it's feasible to make a new XO for it, so it's his decision, but we listened to the midrange by itself and while the FR (and bandwidth) are decent, it also didn't sound very resolving.
Also the stock XO is not that bad. Making a better one won't be cheap.

If you asked me: making a new speaker from scratch is 100X more fun. It is not like there is shortage of awesome drivers, some are even affordable. Only annoyance is cabinet.
