Cancer. Stage 3 bordering on stage 4. From what I've been told, there's a chance but in his case, with where the tumor is located the odds are not in his favor.
That's really quite a blow. My thoughts are with you, man. Similarly, I have a friend all of 30yo with two babies diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. It's just not f'ing fair. However long your friend has left, I do hope you can get some quality time with him. Take good care.
Receiving such news always feels like getting sucker punched. May the best possible outcome come your friend's way.
My wife has a dear friend that was diagnosed with clear cell carcinoma a year ago. She was given a very short time to live as a prognosis. Now a year later she is in remission. Hang on to the slim hopes. Sometimes it works.
