A1 with remote. It's great.

Tea-leaves suggest it’ll synergize well with a specific amp/hp combo I have in mind. I’ll let it warm up and try next week.

To me, Yggdrasil settles down in 24-hours you are like 99.5% there. Not much there in that last 0.5%. No need to wait next week.

Yeah my OG is about the same. I may give it a quick spin in the morning.

Hypothesis: since to my ears MHA200 is the only headphone amp that maximally uses Yggdrasil, it’ll be fine with A1. I’m also betting on Utopia’22 to synergize a little better given my assumed proximity to Gungnir Multibit A2.

If your sonic preferences trend toward fast/sharp/transient forward/etch/plankton like mine do, GS can do REALLY well with big boy tubes by adding in that tube depth, bloom, and body. Took me a minute to dial in, but with the right tubes I haven’t been happier than with GS into Studio B. Can get spooky.

I expect more detail than gugnir a2, all else great. We’ll see. MHA200 is definitely not big tubey. Very precise, thou.

I also suspect some magic with eq’d HD800s. We’ll see.

Yeah I’m just using SBAF parlance to indicate MHA200 is in the realm of “big boy tube amps.” Studio B is a very non-tubey tube amp also, relatively.

Gotcha - I’ve only heard a studio jr (I think? 2A3 tubes?) and yes, very nice blackground, realistic transients and all. It did not “engage” me as much as others but definitely a cool piece of equipment.

Btw, did not resist. Just tried a couple of tunes. 8 hours in, still in the nasal congestion phase. :-)

Almost there. so far so good. Still a little congestion, but the separation, clarity, and realistic reproduction are clearly there. Less warm (not cold) than A2 (and that guy is not warm anyway). It’s getting along fine with the amp and the cans. We’ll see how it develops once fully warmed up.

My Yggdrasil A1 took a couple days at least back when I first got it.

Have you heard the DSHA-3F/N?

Put mine down with the 2CH. So lovely with the Aegir and the Lintons. I have no reason to buy anything else for a very long time.

I've been rather sick, so all I can do is listen. This test was good. GS2 is really good. Indeed it is an airier Gungnir A2 with better separation. Better than OG/A2? No. Flavors indeed.

MHA200 extracts all the juice, so I don't feel like I'm leaving Yggdrasil coins on the table anymore. Used HD800S for testing.

@zonto - DSHA-3F/N: no, I haven’t heard it. Rather curious as it is focal-focused.
