Late to the party. Can anybody summarize what happened (or what's going on?) Things like what Amir did to Yggdrasil many years ago repeated in 2024?

I listened to them for a few songs at axpona, I thought they were pretty bad, specially for 5-10k. Maybe copious EQing could save them

@Vtory: Raal released a new fotm totl headphone, the Immanis - cue hype train hyperventilation on head-fi; the headphones.com crew (Resolve and GoldenSound) release a CanJam impressions video with negative views, cue meltdown on head-fi.

The joke here is that Raal stole HiFiMAN's thunder, with the release of the new Susvara Unveiled.

FWIW, I've heard the Sus Unveiled: not massively different from OG; richer, more forward mids; less sweetness in treble; smaller headstage; more open-sounding.

I've yet to hear the Immanis; the Magna, its slightly less pricey sibling is decent (impressions posted in a dedicated thread here).

Its a little funny, Resolve/Goldensound were critical of Sus Unveiled plus I get emails from folks upset at the tier list video when they plus DMS called the closed back HFMs awful. Been trying to bring in the new Raal stuff to our store without much success since I had customers asking us if we could bring it in

Seems like the usual discourse on HF when it comes popular FOTM items, if our team dislikes it then ultimately we get accused of shilling because we carry a rival product in the store. Content team and store team is separated and they crap on products we carry all the time lol
