As far as your question about pressing gently down on the dome of the diaphragm, you may want to ask some of the members who do mods - you can also find the author of the mods in the link I posted above.

If you accidentally press down on it, you can pop it back up by sucking on it. Seriously. It's in one of Tyll's videos on the hd650s.

Cause I did it, not really thinking about. Then I thought, hmm, the diaphragm doesn't flex this much when music is playing through it, maybe its a bad idea.

@thegunner100 The diaphragm is not stuck, it flexes up and down when pressed, which I assume is normal.
